Barcelona has gone completely mad, and the streets are overflowing with unprecedented joy. The reason: this very afternoon, the city was awarded the 1992 Olympics, and people are taking to the streets to celebrate as if American planes were appearing and showering dollars everywhere. Our protagonist, whose name we don't know, only that he's number 227 from the taxi dispatch center, is oblivious to the celebrations, thinking that these sporting festivities can bring nothing good, only vultures that will devour Barcelona and carve it up in bite-sized pieces.
Fortunately, on that night of October 16, 1986, he had his favorite service, Antonio, owner of nightclubs and other less-than-legal businesses, though these haven't affected his relationship with his client. Once a month, Antonio takes him all night through the city's hidden corners: poker games, cockfights or dogfights, seedy dives, or exclusive restaurants where high-class prostitutes give blowjobs between bites of seafood and sea bass.
But that night would be completely different. First, he met an angel fallen from heaven, Angie, who apparently was Antonio's girlfriend, and with whom he fell head over heels. Then, things got much more complicated with a briefcase, or rather, its contents: a trio of fascist bikers, a terrorist cell… and the inevitable.

This is a series of crime novels that originated during the COVID quarantine. It narrates the adventures, or rather misadventures, of a Barcelona taxi driver, whose name is never revealed, and who is identified as 227 and later as Turner, due to a series of unfortunate events. He wanders through a city that no longer exists; dangerous, gritty, and rife with misery, yet possessing a distinct personality and a culture that has been completely decimated.
The Stories of 227 begin on October 17, 1986, the day of the 91st Session of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Lausanne, Switzerland, when the then-president of the organization, Juan Antonio Samaranch, uttered the historic phrase: "À la ville de... Barcelona".
Inevitably, everything comes to an end, and these stories are marked by the date of his death, arranged by the twists of fate and the author's whim, for July 25, 1992, precisely when the Olympic cauldron of Barcelona '92 was lit, with the archery throw of Paralympic athlete Antonio Rebollo, at 10:12 p.m. that night.

Biografía:
José Luis Martín (Barcelona, 1963) ejerce de crítico musical desde 1.985, realizando diferentes programas radiofónicos en Ona Popular de Sants y Ràdio Cornellà, dirigiendo Bad Music desde el año 1.996 en Ràdio L’Hospitalet, COM Ràdio, ScannerFM y actualmente en Fusión Radio -emitiendo en DAB+ (Digital Audio Broadcasting Plus) para toda la provincia de Barcelona y Ràdio Fusión de La Costa, emitiendo para la Costa Dorada de Tarragona.
Durante una década transformó Bad Music en un programa diario de televisión para TV L’Hospitalet y La Xarxa de Televisions Locals de Catalunya, demostrando que la televisión musical no es un lujo ni cara; Bad Music TV grabó más de 3000 conciertos. Ha dirigido los documentales “Bad Music Festival. Una noche con los clásicos”, “Barna Blues. La Historia del Blues en Barcelona” y “Hondarribia Crossroads. El punto de encuentro (I y II)”. Ha colaborado en revistas como Popular 1, R.P.M, Ruta 66 y Nativa, dirigiendo durante cinco años Free Rock, y durante diez años la revista BAD. Pertenece a la organización del festival Primavera In Black y el Ciclo de Blues & Boogie, ejerció de presentador del Benicàssim Blues Festival, Festival Blues & Plus de Lleida y Aracena Blues, así como responsable de la programación Pocket Concerts. Es el autor de “Queen & Freddie Mercury” (2017), “Deep Purple. Historia de la saga” (2018), “Leyendas urbanas del rock” (2019), “Elton John” (2019), “El lado oscuro del Rock” (2020) y “Más leyendas urbanas del rock” (2020), publicados todos ellos en la editorial Ma Non Troppo / RedBook.
