To mark the 30th anniversary of its original release, Kasba Music is reissuing “Mentemblanco,” the third album by the legendary La Banda Trapera del Rio, with new artwork and remastered tracks.
“Mentemblanco” is one of the Cornellà band's greatest albums and the one that revived the group after their return to the stage in 1993. The album encapsulates La Banda Trapera del Rio's sound at its peak, a well-recorded record showcasing their unmistakable signature style.
It's 70s rock 'n' roll (proto-punk, some would say) with a gritty, working-class theme, presented without restraint in the lyrics by the late Morfi Grei. Probably the weakest part of the original work was the visual aspect, with a design that hardly represented the musical content. Therefore, in this thirtieth anniversary edition, the album is wrapped in new packaging, with a collage made from press clippings and live photos of the band from that era by our beloved and missed Xavier Mercadé.
